Pray for all clients – that God will be at work in their lives through the services that they receive from Torch.
Pray for the Client Services team as they engage with clients on a daily basis; that they will be encouraged and led by God in their work and service.
Pray for those supporting our clients, such as family, friends and church family – that they would receive wisdom, joy and understanding.
Pray for wisdom for the Torch Befrienders as they support clients with sight loss over the telephone.
Pray for those recently diagnosed with sight loss, facing operations, those have been waiting a long time for appointments and delayed operations.
Section B. Sight Loss Friendly Church (SLFC)
Give thanks for our online events, that they will encourage churches to consider people with sight loss in a more meaningful way.
Pray that we will continue to engage with new churches and that they will respond positively to our message of including people with sight loss.
Pray that our podcast, ‘Insight’, will reach and make an impression on a wide audience so that people with sight loss can benefit from the information.
Thank God that we’re a dynamic team with different talents and personalities that complement each other.
Pray that the resources we offer will remain relevant, and for inspiration to proactively create new content.
Pray that Sight Loss Sunday (16th October) will inspire churches to welcome people with sight loss into their congregations.
Section C. Torch Fellowship Groups (TFGs) and Torch Together
Give thanks for our Regional Coordinators and Torch Groups, including opportunities we have to come together at Regional Events.
Pray for wisdom for groups starting to meet again in person and those transitioning from online or phone meetings.
Give thanks that our first Torch Together holiday in Scarborough was an enjoyable and encouraging time for all who attended.
Pray for the staff and volunteers who will be leading and helping on Torch Together holidays in Poole, Stone and Northern Ireland later in the year.
Thank God for the Torch Together Lent course and the opportunity to meet together from folks’ own homes on Zoom.
Section D. Prayer topics for Torch centrally
Pray for the Leadership Team and Trustee Board as they consider strategy for Torch in the next few years and for clear guidance and inspiration.
Give thanks to God for the many individuals who support Torch through their prayers, time and financial gifts.
Pray that God would strengthen our relationships with Christian grant making trusts and provide the funds to continue our hope-bringing ministry.
Pray for the Torch staff team, their welfare and workloads.
Section E. International
Pray for blind people and their families and communities in Malawi that have been affected by flooding and specifically that they will have sufficient seeds and the right weather to get a good winter crop.
Pray for wisdom for trustees in UK and Malawi about the future of the work of Torch Malawi. That God would guide us clearly.
Pray for staff of Torch Malawi: Stanley, Lazarus, Blessings and Stephen.
Pray for guidance as we consider how we can make Torch’s resources available to many more blind and partially sighted people around the world.
Section F. Accessible Christian Literature
Pray that clients will continue to be blessed & helped as they receive Accessible Christian Literature delivered through the provision of Articles for the Blind.
Pray for the volunteers who record our audio daily Bible reading notes and magazines.
Pray for Keren as she chooses books to be transcribed in audio, deciding between human narration and Text To Speech (TTS), braille and large print.
Pray for God’s provision, especially with the rising cost of materials (the price of braille paper rose a third this past year).
Give thanks to God for the grants that we have received to support the Accessible Christian Literature work and for Suzie as she applies for more.
Pray for Kate and Sheila, our volunteer audio book editors and Brenda, a volunteer who has the complex task of producing our TTS audio books.
Pray for the staff team, James, Ildi, Paul Wood, Paul Rhodes, Mickey and Mark.
Section G. Outreach
Pray that more people will benefit from the services which Torch offers.
Pray for those with sight loss who face other issues, whether medical, spiritual or material that they might discover a deeper relationship with Christ.
Pray that news of the Pathway audio Bible players will spread & will bless those who receive one.
Give thanks for the opportunities to share our audio work nationally and internationally.
Pray for God’s guidance on the content that we create & for his love and wisdom to be heard.
